Don’t forget our November bargaintastic specials on KALE, RED KALE, BRONZE FENNEL and ACORN, KABOCHA and HARLEQUIN SQUASH.

There has been A LOT going on at the farm over the last couple of weeks. And, seeing as I think we know each other fairly well by now, I expect you to know that when I say ‘a lot’ what I actually mean is SPROUTS and ROOTS. Some clear (as mud, literally) signs that we’re rapidly heading towards the festive period.

I’ve been privy to some stonkingly good Christmas dishes gracing menus all over London combining what us Brits do best... comforting, warming, cuddling dishes. Combining our terrific TURNIPS, brilliant BRUSSELS (tops and sprouts), and superb SWEDE, it’s a threesome that’s hard to beat.

What’s more, our BUNCHED CHANTENAY and BUNCHED YELLOW CARROTS are back, as is our radiant RAINBOW CHARD. Despite the ghosts and ghouls having been and gone for this year, our GOOLIGAN, ROUGE de TEMPS and FESTIVAL SQUASHES are still rockin’.

Unfortunately, we’ve got numerous casualties this week... GREEN OAK, RED GEM, CRABAPPLES, MIRCONETTLES, MICRO CELERY, RADISH TADPOLS, COURGETTES, ASPARAGUS, NETTLES, PUMPKIN DISPLAYS, SLOES, and OKAHIJIKI.

Our tomato offerings have dumped the cake (fools) and have slimmed down to CHERRY VINE, YELLOW CHERRY VINE, ELEGANCE, PLUM and BEEF.

We have a positive harmony of cuddles (official collective term) for you to keep you warm and your pockets happy on these autumnal evenings:

·         CHARLOTTE POTATOES

·         PARSNIPS

·         SAVOY CABBAGE

·         JONAGOLD APPLES

Beauty often makes its home in the eye of the beholder. Gets the slow-cooker going, the bean bags fluffed up, the garden hedge trimmed etc etc. Said beholder, however, may feel slightly torn at times, and in one case in particular... If it happens to be a Turks Turban.

I’m in the Team Beautiful for these gorgeous Turbanites and relish their quirky shape, lumps, bumps and colours. They look spectacular and taste phenomenal. So to those sitting on the fence or camping out in Team Ugly, I say heed your hating and think again. They’re splendiferous. Fact. (Oh, and available from us now).

Also wearing capes and saving the world from mediocre veg, we have LOOSE GOLDEN and CHELTENHAM BEETS and delightfully small BUNCHED CHIOGGIA, GOLDEN and REGULAR also. What’s more, our PUMPKIN DISPLAYS (pre-order only) and PUMPKINS are creating quite a witch’s broth stir. We have small and medium with a (very) few large. If you want any of the large, call me so we can put one aside.

Unfortunately, winging their way are our SWEETCORN, RED SPRING ONION, SUMMER SQUASH, NASTURTIUM FLOWERS, FLAVORINO and SAN MARZANO MIDI TOMS, LEMON THYME and AUTUMN ASPARAGUS (super sob).

In case you’re dreading the impending cold stretch after that week of untimely heat, we’ve got some fantastically distracting news to brighten up those thoughts. Having witnessed a few typical, sun-worshipping Englishmen (and their dogs), our PINK FIR APPLE POTS should take you right back there. Maybe. And if not, they’re super-tip-top-tasty with their nutty nobbliness.

We also have additions to our SQUASH SELECTION; ACORN, SPAGHETTI and the very cutesome WEE-BE-LITTLE which is technically a pumpkin (although we have to limit ideas of grandeur due to only being about 300g each).

Unfortunately, some of our foraged goodies are on the out including DILL FLOWERS, ICE TIPS, PETIT POIS FLOWERS, and SEA FENNEL as well as RED MOZART POTS, BUTTERHEAD LETTUCE and RAINBOW CHARD. Our BUNCHED RED, WHITE & YELLOW CARROTS are taking a break of a few weeks but will be back for the winter.
